Pullin' for pulled-pork

I took a little break from my open memo this past Saturday to make myself, Jackie and Max something to enjoy while watching Georgia beat Kentucky's ass (I didn't get to participate in this part of the evening).

Do not laugh at my IHOP-lookin' plates!

Pulled pork sandwiches with bread n' butter chips, fresh broccoli and carrots. It wasn't much, but it was a pleasant albeit brief distraction.

I feel busted and exhausted, but at least that godforsaken open memo is done.
Aaaaand now my birthday celebration festivities can begin!

Limp Bizkit

Nothing like coming home from a long day of school to find out that my sister has baked me some whole wheat biscuits (in fun fall-friendly shapes, no less) for me to eat with some pumpkin butter. My sister is the bomb-diggity, no diggity!

'Cause you're hot and you're cold...

The fluctuation in climate temps here has been wreaking havoc on my sinuses. This could not have come at a worse time--I have an open memo due next week! Bah!

Someone please buy me this early birthday present:

I am certain this headband will cure what ails me!

Why today is awesome:

I liked my hair (for once).
I got out of class early.
I nailed my open memo conference.
I got a bunch of HW done.
I got caught up on the lastest episode of Boardwalk Empire.
I went for a run along Shady Valley ('cause the weather was kickin').
I ate a whole bowl of cold watermelon cubes.

Aaaand now I'm going to take a nap. On the couch. With my hand in my shorts.
PEACE!

Obladi oblada!

My nephew Ralph is amazing.

Today was a good day--I did not get called in class, the weather was nice and I enjoyed a big, hot bowl of Bún bò Huế for dinner. The only minor hitch was seeing the guy next to me in class adjusting his nut-sack hardcore (so shameless!). Otherwise, I had a pretty pleasant Tuesday!

Awesome Bill from Dawsonville

Me and Thao decided to get out of the city for a bit, so we had Max drive us to Dawsonville, GA to the Kangaroo Conservation Center on Saturday morning. It's a long story about how I found out about this little north Georgia gem, but I'm so glad I did. Seriously, only an hour away from where I live is the world's largest Kangaroo mob outside of Australia--there was no way I could NOT go!

Who knew Dawsonville was so scenic? I took a lot of great photos and this on in particular is my favorite; doesn't it look like something out of Rivendell? You know, the Elven forest in the Lord of the Rings?
Aaand, I'm a dork.

Um...

Matt Ryan. Good googly-moogly.

Why does it cost so much to go and see the Falcons play? It's like, $30-$70 for nosebleed seats depending on what home game you go to. It's $75 to see them play the Saints, and your ears will probably be popping from being at such a high altitude. What the hell? For $75 I'd better get to see Matt Ryan after the game do the "dirty bird" in his underwear in my bed! Sheeeeit.

Lately I've been getting into football (both college and NFL) because I'm around Max and his friends a lot and my dad has always been into football (used to be a bookie of sorts), so I guess it's rubbing off on me a little. After watching my first real football game (GSU v. Shorter College), I decided that it was high time I watch the Falcons. I have never been and I really really want to, but those seat tickets are killing me.

Seriously, is baseball the only reasonably-priced sport to see out there?
Speaking of which, go Braves!

Maps; Wait! They don't love you like I love you...

That there, is a baby quilt. Of Atlanta.
Aaaaaand, I want it.

So, tomorrow is Thirsty Thursday everywhere and some of my girlfriends are wanting to drag me out to the club (I just took my first law school exam). I am not looking forward to this. The last time I went clubbing was back in May (it was brief and it was a friend's birthday) and the last time I actually enjoyed clubbing was back in May 2008. I don't really hate clubbing, I just really hate people who go clubbing. It's mostly the guys--they all look and act like some messed up, Southern-version of those Jersey Shore guys. Absolutely charming, I know.

Granted, sometimes I feel like dancing, but can I please not get rubbed up on by some gross dudes while trying to justify paying 8 bucks for some shitty-ass drink while I get my groove on?

Man I sound old.

I like my sugar with coffee and (PUMPKIN SPICE) cream!

It was 55 degrees this morning, so you KNOW it's time to bust out the pumpkin spice creamer again among other awesomely fall-appropriate things:

  1. Dark nail polish colors by OPI and Essie
  2. Fur throw Max got me some Christmases ago
  3. Knee-highs
  4. Chili n' co'n bread recipes
  5. Scary movies (cooler temps makes me crave creepiness)
  6. My comfy, over-sized military-style jacket
  7. Vanilla-scented candles

There's more but I gotta get back to studying.
Hot damn I love fall!
